latest update

i made some changes on the layout of this blog. they all happened to be adding some stuff into the sidebar. well, the first one is this week’s video. i actually wanted to upload a video to the sidebar using RSS. too bad, i couldn’t find the way of doing that properly. so, thanks for some help, i used html instead. the only thing that must be edited was the height and width of the video. this one is 220 x 125.

next is the search bar. it works the same way as google search bar anywhere on the planet.

finally is the video bar. this one is uploaded differently though. i utilized the video bar element on blogger to do it. i had to copy all the tags from the video to the video bar to ensure that the blog would show the right video. well, this time it works.

voila !!! today is still the 22nd day in 2008, but i already got a surprise pack. akupercaya forum has just revealed its new look. cool!!!! new features include live chat, blogging, groups, and so much more. good job by the admin.

paris

on my way back home today, i suddenly thought of writing some information related to my recent trip to paris. i hope this will help those who are planning to go to the city in the coming times.

first, public transportation. to be frank, the system is quite simple. 14 lines of metro network practically connect every single area in paris, particularly the tourist destinations. so, no worries about it. first thing that you need to get is paris metro map. it will provide you with a great deal of help. then, if you are staying for 2 or 3 days, i will suggest that you buy 10 tickets at once. further information on this issue is available here.

second, accommodation. well, i found that this hotel, is a good one and the fee for one night worth the money. it provides free breakfast with a nice food and coffe milk. i got addicted to french baguette (pronounced: ba-get) because of this free breakfast. this hostel is located in montmarte. it’s still quite close to moulin rouge, Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and not too far away from other tourist destinations such as the eiffel tower and notre dame.

third, fees. it costs around 11 euros to get to the top of the eiffel tower. if you want to see the art magic from the past few centuries, you gotta visit louvre. the entrance fee is 9 euros. but, if you visit them after 18.00, it’s free. so, pick your choice. should you want to eat in french cafes or restaurant, be prepared to spend between 15 to 20 euros for each person.

fourth, tourist destinations. well it’s all up to you how to arrange it. apart from the names mentioned before, you should also visit, jardin du luxembourg , bastille, d’orsay, boulevard st. germain, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon Paris. feel free to add some more. paris is quite a big city and has many tourist attractions.

hey hey hey …

first post in 2008. it started differently from the previous years. i spent the first day with my friends in amsterdam and then diemen.

the day after, i left for paris with some other friends. we were there for three days, visiting many places (eiffel, louvre, notredame, jardin de luxembourg, d’orsay, moulin rouge – see picture – and more …) it was a nice trip indeed. this trip seemed to be an opening for a series of vacation around europe in the coming months.

and now, im only 25 weeks away from finishing this study. isn’t it wonderful? 3.5 years flew so fast. i can still remember the very first day when my feet stepped in to this cold and windy country.

well o well. i only need to finish my current project and final dissertation and then im done. yay. another quest has been waiting for me though. a journey to the world of professionalism in a real world. i cant wait for that. but first, i need to finish this final dissertation proposal. so, see you in next post.
